Troehler has studied the relation of Swiss, German and American educational
thinking to republicanism, pragmatism, communitarianism, and Rousseau
and Pestalozzi in the Swiss and German contexts. He recently edited a
special issue of Studies in Philosophy and Education on history
and philosophy.
