Stockholm Institute of Education, Sweden and Kenneth Petersson Linköping University, Sweden "Nostalgia, Future and the Past as Pedagogical Technologies" Monday, 9 October 2006 2:30 p.m. Room 220, Teacher Education Building Sponsored by the Center for European Studies the School of Education International Programs Committee and the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Professors Olsson and Petersson will discuss a four-year research project concerned with the construction of the subject in Sweden reform policy discourses. Using Foucault’s concept of governmentality, they compare the fields of health education, teacher education, and crime prevention policies in the early 20th century and today's notions of The Learning Society and lifelong learner.
