Åse Gornitzka has been a senior researcher at ARENA since 2004. She holds a doctoral degree from the Faculty of Public Administration, University of Twente, the Netherlands. Previously she was a senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Studies in Research and Higher Education (NIFU STEP) and at the Centre for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) at the University of Twente.
